NABAGRAM HIRALAL PAUL COLLEGE

The Department of Vocation (B. Voc.) has been initiated by UGC & NSQF (National Skills Qualification Framework) in Nabagram Hiralal Paul College affiliated to University of Calcutta since 2018-2019 sessions. The semester wise B. Voc in Hospitality and Tourism & Retail Management under CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) programme is initiated keeping in view the growing importance of Corporate Industry globally and its prominence in the state of West Bengal as well.

Course Objective

• To empower youths by offering necessary skills and training to increase their chances of getting jobs in various sectors.
• To increase productivity, and improve standards of living, helping people develop and update their skills makes economic sense.
• To disseminate knowledge and appropriate skill practices through recognized systems training, testing and certification to validate competency level.

The vision of the department is to provide quality oriented teaching that may bring out the potentiality of the students and thereby become a leading provider of related education, supporting the growth of country’s Retail, Hospitality Tourism Industry.

The department is to become an agent for providing quality educational services and training programmes to develop competent and quality human resource for Retail, Hospitality Tourism Industry. We believe in grooming the students in a way thus bringing best out of them.

Eligibility

A candidate who has passed Higher Secondary from WBCHSE/ CBSE/ISC/Vocational examination from any stream (Arts/ Commerce/ Science) with a minimum percentage of 45% can apply for admission in this course.

Course Pattern

The Under Graduate course includes both theoretical and practical elements and Internships. The course consists of eight semesters (4 years) includes vocational with mainstream education while allowing multiple entries and exit with appropriate certification.

Short Term Course

Besides B.Voc Programmes Department of Vocation also offers Six months Certificate, One year Diploma Programmes and Two year in Tour Guid, Retail Casher, Front Office, Retail Sales Associate, Store Operational Assistant, Tour Operator, Food and Beverage Services, Warehouse Management for (10+2) Under Graduate Students to become industry Professionals with exciting careers in the Travel & Tourism, Hotel Restaurants, Retail and other service sector.

Placement Support

The relationship we established with leading Hotel chains, Shopping Malls, Travel & Tourism companies, Supply Chain and Industry Partners provide students with local, National and career opportunities in the field Hospitality, Retail, Tourism & allied Industry.
