The Department of Bengali, Nabagram Hiralal Paul College was following the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) curriculum (PG) offered by the University of Calcutta from the academic session 2018-2019.

Assessment Method


পরীক্ষা পদ্ধতি দুটি ভাগে বিভক্ত অভ্যন্তরীণ মূল্যায়ন(CIA) এবং সেমিস্টার শেষের মূল্যায়ন(Theory) । অভ্যন্তরীণ মূল্যায়ন(CIA) হয়  একভাবে -- ইন্টারনাল(Internal) পরীক্ষা।

The examination method is divided into two parts: Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) and end-of-semester evaluation (Theory). Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) is conducted internally.

  • PO1. To acquaint learners with advanced knowledge of Bengali as language of literatures, of philosophy of literatures and Bengali as basis for skill enhancement.
  • PO2. To acquaint learners with advanced knowledge of Linguistics. To acquaint learners with the history of Bengali society, culture and literature.
  • PO 3 • To acquaint learners the Literature of Bengali from the beginning to modern poems, Drama, novels, short stories and essays of eminent writers (From 10th Century to 20th Century).
  • PO 4 • To acquaint learners about the vast literature of Rabindranath Tagore – the world famous writer of Bengali literature • Learners get knowledge of eastern and western types of criticism and literary works.
  • PO 5 • The learners can choose one special paper among novels and short stories, Rabindra literatures.
