Introduction

Nabagram Hiralal Paul College Library  was founded on 3rd February 1957. It has great significance in the teaching - Learning research activities. It serves as an unfailing companion in achieving highest level of intellectual excellence.

The Nabagram Hiralal Paul College Library Customaries KOHA version 22.05.07.000 integrated Library Management software which is highly secure, efficient and completely browser based system which can be accessed from anywhere in the world over Web. It ensures minimum paper usage in our library with major LMS standards. It is fully compatible with the latest browsers like 'Internet Explorer' or Google Chrome. It has 24x7x365 OPAC search facility.

Library is fully WI-Fl enabled and is equipped with CCTV cameras. It provides separate reading rooms to students and faculty. It also has a resource room equipped with computers with access to the internet.

 

Library has huge space for stacks, almirahs as well as reading room. Sufficient natural air, light enter in the Library. Automated fire extinguisher has been setup to save documents, in emergency period. Library keeps separate attendance register for both students and faculty on regular basis. On an average 45(Forty five) users come to the Library everyday.

The College Library has a rich collection of more than 29,395 books, 02 news papers, 12 journals and several magazines.

The collection for science subjects includes book from disciplines like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Environmental Science. It also has exhaustive collection of academic and supplementary text for commerce and Humanities subjects like Bengali, English, Sanskrit, Hindi, History, Education, Political Science, Economics and Philosophy. Library has also a section for competitive books and magazine.

A large number of rare books about 220 (Two hundred twenty) copies of books have been selected as old books of academic values in literature i.e. Bengali, English, Sanskrit, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Commerce and Economics which have a great significance to the students, teachers as well as the scholars. These collection have the exceptional quality and importance to the field of academic research and studies.

Apart from the in house collection the Library has full access to thousands of journals online through N-List database. N-list is comprehensive database where users of our college can access more than 6000 + e-journal, 199500 e-books through the National Digital Library. It covers all the disciplines i.e. Pure Science, Social Sciences and Humanities including Languages and Linguistics.

The average annual expenditure on books and periodicals for the last 5 years has been Rs.1,72,113.
