Department of Education

About the Department

“By education I mean an all-round drawing out of the best in child and man-body, mind and spirit. Literacy is not the end of education or even the beginning”- M.K. Gandhi.

The Department of Education came into existence at Nabagram Hiralal Paul College in 1989. Initially, the Department offered B.A.(General) programmes, but as a result of the continuous demand from the students, the department started to offer B.A.(Hons.) in Education in the year 2012. Later, the department started offering three-year B.A.(Hons.) in Education under the CBCS system in 2018. At present, the department is offering a four-year B.A. Major Course in Education along with three-year B.A. MDC Course in Education under CCF 2022 based on NEP-2020. The department maintains a well-equipped seminar library to cater to the cognitive needs of young minds. Apart from these, the department also encourages the students to participate in various co-curricular and extracurricular activities to develop a 'sound mind in a sound body.' The department functions with the motto of promoting quality education to ensure the holistic development of students.
